I am delighted to have been accepted into the Fintech programme, which has provided me with an incredible learning experience. The programme offers extensive exploration of modern technologies and financial concepts. In the first year of study, we focused on learning basic financial and economic concepts as well as the foundations of engineering, such as programming languages and mathematics. In the next year of study, we will delve deeper into Fintech. The faculty members are highly experienced and passionate about sharing their knowledge with us. They provide us with guidance and resources to equip us with the necessary skills and knowledge and keep us updated on the latest trends in Fintech. My name is Nicko, and I am a penultimate-year Fintech student. During my studies, the Fintech programme has provided me with courses covering various areas, such as engineering foundations, finance, economics, optimisation, and technology. In addition to academic studies, I have also participated in case competitions around Hong Kong to expand my practical knowledge while nurturing my interpersonal skills and building up a social network. I am delighted to have become a member of the 28th cabinet of the student society of the department, which has allowed me to develop rapport with my classmates. The Fintech programme provides its graduates with a wide range of career options spanning industries from finance and business to technology, which is a true strength of the programme. I believe that Fintech represents a major future trend, and I am excited to be part of it.

Studying in the Fintech programme has been an enriching experience for me, even though I am only in my first year. The programme has provided me with numerous concepts that can be applied to real-world problems. The well-designed curriculum has laid a solid foundation for future learning and enhanced my mathematical and analytical skills while providing insights into how technology interacts with finance.

The rise of automated financial services has emphasised the importance of learning new concepts and technologies, giving us an advantage in the industry, and this is what studying Fintech provides. Unlike other engineering courses that focus primarily on system development, Fintech courses cover a combination of topics related to finance and economics and are highly practical for students pursuing careers related to both technology and finance. Overall, studying in the Fintech programme has been a rewarding experience for me, and I am grateful to be part of it.

My name is Hin Ching. I am a student enrolled in the dual-degree programme jointly offered by Chinese University of Hong Kong and Peking University, majoring in both Fintech and financial mathematics. Studying at these two top universities has been an invaluable experience for me, because both majors are fascinating in my opinion. The dual-degree programme provides not only extensive training in mathematical reasoning and modelling but also in-depth coverage of computer programming, technology, and many practical aspects. With solid training in both mathematics and technology, I can now solve problems in an interpretable, theoretically sound, and logically consistent manner. I truly value this capability because it strengthens my mind and helps me work more efficiently whenever I face a new challenge. I believe that these benefits will motivate me to further my studies and pursue my career and life goals.
